Adult Program
Our adult classes are structured around “free-talking”- a learning style where dialogue is the main focus. We will introduce grammar that is on par with each level of class. The classes will focus mainly on various casual and daily expressions that are commonly used. The book Talk to Me in Korean will be used as a baseline for the course along with other worksheets provided by the instructor.
The beginner class will introduce basic conversation skills such as greetings, introductions, counting, ordering at a restaurant, etc. The students will also learn Hangul, the Korean alphabet, and the structure of the Korean language, and will begin to work towards learning how to read and write in Hangul.
The intermediate class will focus primarily on speaking in Korean. This class will help build a more extensive vocabulary, to extend students’ conversational skills. The students will also work on advanced grammar, such as prepositions, irregular verbs, and past/present/future tense. This class is for those who have already experienced Hangul and the Korean language.
The advanced class will be for those who have already attended the beginner and intermediate classes, or those who can hold basic conversations and have past knowledge of the Korean language. This class will focus on integrating vocabulary, expressions, and grammar into reading and writing. We will also explore conversation in depth, as students discover a wider range of themes such as formal speaking, reasoning, and emotional expression. Upon completing the course, students will be able to express their thoughts freely, using their extended Korean vocabulary.
